The Happy Valley Football Club congratulates Taite Silverlock on his selection in the AFL Rookie Draft by the Essendon Football Club.
Taite is a former Happy Valley sub-junior and junior footballer who has always showed exceptional ability and skill. Under the guidance of his father who coached him both at the Hub Primary School and at HVFC, Taite earned the opportunity to play at West Adelaide Football club where he has progressed through the junior ranks to play league football. On the way through Taite has represented the State at both Under 16 and Under 18 level. Taite has been on the AFL radar of many clubs now for some time and it is just reward for the time and effort that Taite has devoted to his football that he has now been picked up by the Essendon Football Club.
What a great example to young Happy Valley Footballers Taite's football life thus far has been. If you want something bad enough,you put in the hard work both at training, at home and in games, then it is possible to achieve even your highest goals. Taite is the most recent of several Happy Valley juniors now mixing it with the best in the AFL
We wish Taite all the best in his new surroundings and will watch with much interest as his career with the Bombers unfolds.
